HOW DO YOU KILL POWDERY MILDEW ON PLANTS?

i get this on my zucchini, although i have never cured it, just when watering, water on roots and soil, not leaves. i dont know you circumstaqncesc, but i just snap off the leaves, purely because i have never fixed it and it looks bad.
